Study Groups

The aim of this scheme is to bring students together on a regular basis with either an experienced Legal Executive or other lawyer or perhaps a professional tutor who can offer support, informal advice and unofficial guidance as a supplement to the training services available through 'flexible' or 'blended' learning (although those studying at a college will be prefectly welcome to join too.

Guidance

Following initial exercises, it became clear that owing to the relatively low number of members, we could not justify dedicated subject groups nor to divide Level 3 and Level 6 students. Therefore all sessions will be 'mixed' and focus on those subjects which have been flagged in advance by those members able to come.

So, by keeping an eye on the blog (and posting any requests for help) you can see when the session is due to take place, what will be covered and therefore decide whether to come or not. 

Study Group meetings presently take place immediately after the Branch Committee meetings at the RWPS Law offices in Parkstone Road, Poole and run from 7.30pm to 9pm.

We will continue to monitor the way these work to learn and improve the service as best we can bearing in mind there will be limited resources and the service is intended to be provided without any charge (therefore to members of the branch only).

To that end, all comments, suggestions and friendly criticism will be gratefully received. By the same token, please bear in mind this will NOT be a formal teaching service so do not expect materials and lectures etc. Think of how a reading group works and the theory is a Study Group will work in much the same way.

Signing Up 

As mentioned above administration and communications are handled via the dedicated Study Group blog. To join only requires you to email me or post a comment on the blog. If you are not already a member of the branch this will not prevent you coming along to see how you find it though you will need to join eventually.
